Nadine Angel Cloete is a Cape Town based filmmaker. She has her Honours in Film Theory and Practice from UCT (2008). Her work has focussed on history, heritage, memory and identity. Her short documentary,Miseducation, premiered on the New York Times Op Doc Site and IDFA. Her first independent feature documentary, Action Kommandant, won Best Documentary at the Encounters South African International Documentary Film Festival (SA, 2016) and Best Documentary, Africa in Motion (UK, 2016). It was nominated for Best Achievement in Directing a Documentary Feature (SAFTAs 2017) and Best Documentary (BlackStar Film Festival, USA 2017). In 2016 she won the pitch award at DIFF for her first fiction in development, On The Bus.
